The notes from the meeting of the Council held on Thursday 21st November 2024 (attached) to be approved as Minutes and signed by the Chairman

Update on village project

Cllr Quiney circulated the final designs for the benches, village signs and air men silhouette. She told all that all of the benches are slightly different and the signs will be to, to name the different areas. The pride team has started doing the works and will be carrying on next week when they are next available. Cllr Quiney told the council that she has written to National Grid about the electric transformer box as she would like it to be a part of the memorial with the air men present. She told the council that the first part of the funding should come in January. Cllr Quiney told the council that Cllr Czornookyj has been in touch with Anglian water about their work box on the junction of Cannister Lane and Castledyke Bank to see if it can be incorporated as well.

Report back from local village nativity event

Cllr Quiney told all that everyone thoroughly enjoyed it but it was quite a lengthy walk, especially for little ones. If this is done again for this year then it would be a good idea to shorten the length. Cllr Holland told all that it was a great village event and it was fantastic to see so many involved. Cllr Quiney told all that she decorated the village bus stop for this and will do it for valentines and easter as well.

Councils resilience plan

Cllr T. Harris offered to spear head the councils resilience plan and the clerk will send over a blank copy which she has.

To consider current banking provider and applying for online banking for ease of payments It was: -

with Lloyds and apply for online banking.

Planning Application/s

S/183/01711/24 - Manor Farm, Leagate Road, Thornton Le Fen. Planning permission for construction of vehicle access and a driveway. The council submitted no objections to this application.

Highways Matters

Speeding in village- A member of public who has been helping the council retrieve their data of their speed sign presented all with a traffic analysis report and the data over the last few months shows that around 20% are speeding. Cllr Quiney has asked that 'sid the smiler'

be used in the parish. She is also going to put together a proposal for the clerk to send to Cllr Ashton with the parish council permission asking for TRO's to be carried out. The head of Gipsey Bridge academy told all that she has safeguarding concerns about members of public standing outside the school waiting for the bus when children are in the playground.

Dog fouling issues - Cllr Quiney has spoken to the dog warden who send out some anti dog fouling posters and have asked them to attend the village to put some no dog fouling paint on the pathways which are regularly a 'hot spot'.
